You spent a lot of time (i.e. on-the-job training) with the company and it was obvious that this aided you in acquiring your full-time position after you graduated from university. Companies love hiring people they know are loyal as well as someone they don't have to train (since it has already been done through your experience with them). What people tend to forget sometimes is that patience is a real virtue when it comes to moving forward in your chosen career. Many people go to college and think that if they donate a little of their time here and there, that would be all they need to obtain the start of a dream situation. You have proven to us fortunate enough to read this that it does take time, a lot of work, faith in the job, and faith in yourself to move onwards in your career goals. I commend you for what you have accomplished so far and I look forward to reading how you continue this upward slope towards your goals. Take care.
