I can do it myself

“T
he Russian word is ‘Ya Sama’- I can do it myself,” says Tatyana McFadden. This quote by Tatyana, a Paralympics silver and bronze medalist, caught my attention in an article by John Gordon. This mentality — I can do it myself — is something at Camp ASCCA we strive to give our campers during their time spent at Camp.

Throughout all of the programs we offer here at Camp ASCCA the focus is on what you can do. It is amazing to see what our campers can accomplish when given the opportunity.

On this note I will leave you with another quote by Tatyana, “When someone writes ‘disabilities,’ they should cross out the ‘dis’ and just keep the ‘ability,’ because I think that everyone is able to do something.”
