The summer applications are rolling in!

Wylone and Karen are busy, busy in the front office with all the summer camper applications they have coming in. The applications go out at the beginning of January, and they really start pouring in beginning in April and continue through May. They received the first application on Jan. 10, and to date have received a total of 192!

There is a whole process that the applications go through after they’re initially received at the front desk. First of all, they add ALL applications to a “received” list. Then, they check to make sure that the application is complete. If fields on the form are left blank, they highlight where information is missing and send it back to the applicant. If all forms are complete and a photo was included (as required), they make sure the photo is attached to the form in the right spot and they send it on its way.

…each application goes through a lengthy process after arriving at the front desk…

Next, the application goes on to Matt, our camp director, and then Pam, camp’s new nurse, for them to review before going back to the front to Wylone and Karen. Their responses to each application determine if it is confirmed or denied. Wylone and Karen, based on the recommendations of Matt and Pam, respond by letter to each applicant to let them know if they were confirmed or not.

For each confirmed application, they make a file folder, put the applicant on the master list, and ultimately enter it into the computer. And tah-dah! They’re ready for campers to arrive! (Well, on the application end at least!)
