When it rains at Camp ASCCA …

I‘d never really thought about this before. Camp ASCCA has groups coming out for science camps and whatnot all through the spring … but what happens when it rains?? Where do all the campers go? What happens with the schedule of activities?
Well, Josh Rhodes has been dealing with this weather issue this week! Dadeville Elementary is scheduled for a camp this Wednesday and Thursday, but weather forecasts have been indicating a mess of bad weather heading our way.
“If it’s just sprinkling rain, we can still do all the activities,” Josh said, “but if it’s a lightening storm, we’re not going to have the students outside in that. In that case, we have to try to reschedule the camp or work something out.”
This spring is especially tight at camp because we’re in the process of remodeling the gymnasium, which is a large in-door space that could have possibly been used if needed. We’re hoping that the weather is OK through the end of the week, so the Dadeville group can do all the activities as planned. With it so close to the end of the school year, it would be hard to reschedule for this year. So cross your fingers!!
