Alabama’s Special Camp for Children & Adults

Reaching your potential

T his afternoon Lee Marshall, a woman that was adopted, came to speak to the Camp APAC kids. She is a news anchor for NBC in Huntsville, Ala., and tries to raise awareness about adoption and foster care as much as possible. She uses her music to raise money to benefit children who have been adopted or children that are looking for a permanent home.

She sang four songs for the children, all of which she had written. She also told the group her life story and how she dealt with her adoption. The kids were given chances to interact with her and ask her questions.

I believe that it is encouraging for adopted children to have someone that has been in their position talk to them about it. I could tell that the kids were getting a lot out of the discussion.

The following video of Lee Marshall is 2:30 minutes and 4.37MB.
