Alabama’s Special Camp for Children & Adults

For Camp ASCCA and all our friends will live within our hearts…

Who thinks about working at camp all year round? Well, I never did, but what an idea! I have been lucky enough to spend my summer working as a public relations intern at a summer camp since May 17. But not just any summer camp, Camp ASCCA in Jackson’s Gap, Ala.

Camp ASCCA is a camp for children and adults with special needs. The entire camp is wheelchair accesssible - custom-made for children and adults with disabilities.  I have loved every minute that I have been here.

As much as I have loved the campers I’ve had the pleasure to meet, who have changed my life, it is the staff that I will truely miss.

I was with them every day and almost every weekend we hung out together. This wonderful group of people has made Camp ASCCA a wonderful place for campers to come all summer long. And they made my summer internship one that will leave memories in my heart forever.

I made the staff slideshow last night. It took me a while, I was up ’til 2 a.m. finishing it, but it got done. And I think it was good, the staff seemed to like it.

I’ve posted it below, it is 18.8 MB and 12:01 long.
