Experiencing some firsts here at camp

Iarrived back at Camp ASCCA this afternoon in time to watch some of the free choice activities. During this time, campers get to choose which activity they would like to participate in from a list. The last stop I made this afternoon was to the pond to watch some fishing.

The moment I walked up, a camper started telling me about how he had just caught his first fish ever. I sat and listened to Jeffrey Stephens tell the story. Apparently this was not his only first of the day.

Being a newcomer to Camp ASCCA, Jeffrey had never been able to ride down a zipline. He did this morning. I wish I could have been there to see his face after he had taken a turn doing that.

I also enjoyed his enthusiasm about being here at camp. It is always great to see a camper that is simply excited just to be at Camp ASCCA. I feel the same way.
