22 Years at Camp ASCCA
Sitting at dinner last night, I started talking to one of the campers who sits at the table with me. Mark Heine began to tell stories about his 22 years here at Camp ASCCA. I enjoyed hearing about how camp has changed over the years, as well as some of his favorite memories of being here.
I went with Mark’s group this morning to horseback and was able to hear more about camp and what he does when he is not here. I was impressed that he attends college in order to become a social worker and help people with disabilities.
After I watched him ride the horse around the horseback riding ring, I sat down with Mark and asked him a few questions about camp and his life in general. The following interview between Mark and me is 5:30 minutes and a 8.11 MB download. The picture to the right is of Mark holding one the guinea pigs while he was waiting for his turn on the horse.
Mark is here at Camp ASCCA thanks to a sponsorship from Louisiana Easter Seals. He has Cerebral Palsy and utilizes a wheelchair to get around.
