Alabama’s Special Camp for Children & Adults

AHIF Family Camp Offers Togetherness, Support and Fun

Imet a very nice family today. The Hobbs family is visiting with the AHIF Family Camp.

…50 percent of traumatic brain injuries are caused by traffic accidents

James Hobbs served honorably as a police officer for many years. He was a motorcycle patrol officer. One day, James - while responding to an accident call - was involved in an accident himself. It was caused by a drunk driver. James’ injuries left him with partial paralysis.

James is joined at camp this week by his wife, Gale, and his son, Dennis. In fact, Dennis flew down from Omaha, Nebraska to spend the week with his Dad.

So far this week, James has been in the pool and also participated in some pavilion games. During this video, we’ll show you a bit of James’ workout with program staff member Joseph. He set up a bean bag toss for James so that he could get some exercise and work on coordination. James was actually quite good at the bag toss and hit the target all but one time, that I counted.

I hope we’ll see more of James in the future. He is a very nice man and we’ll be better off for having him at Camp ASCCA.

Get to know James and his family. The video below is 3:30 in length and a 5.6 mb download.
