Fall weekends start with the Diabetes Family Weekend. We welcomed dozens of campers to ASCCA this weekend for their annual fall retreat from Seale Harris and the Southeastern Diabetes organization.
Mike and Sherri brought their children to ASCCA for the weekend. Luke is diabetic and his siblings, Matthew and Savannah, came along for the experience. The idea is that the family members will attend some educational sessions to help them understand how to cope with diabetes. The person with diabetes also gets some educational training, but also has some fun in our program areas.
I have a video interview with Mike and Sherri that we’ll be sharing with you soon. First up, though, is this video of Savannah participating in zipline.
A cool aspect of family weekends is that it lets everyone have fun. Savannah took full advantage by going down the zipline about 4 or 5 times. We’re glad she did.
Enjoy the video. It is a 5.4 mb download and runs 3:24 in length.
