Improving the Climbing Tower
Over the summer, and into the fall weekends, I noticed that the Levy-Roswal Accessible Climbing Tower could use a couple of improvements. Watching the campers climb, I noticed they could use additional hand and foot holds.
I talked with a group of the veterans, participating in Operation Adventure, about where we could place these extra holds. This week I have been measuring the tower and kicking around ideas with Matt about what improvements can be made.
In the coming months, I am also looking to improve more of our ropes course. One of the improvements will be the tree house. I am looking to re-design the structure so it looks more like an actual tree house.
A few more improvements will be made to our low ropes course. We will be adding a new Mohawk Walk and a Whale Watch. I will be keeping everyone updated, so be on the look out for more blogs and videos.
The video below is a brief explanation of the improvements I want to make to the tower. In it, I’ll show you what I plan to add to the inclined climbing wall. The video is 1:34 in length and is a 2 mb download.
