Sherrod and Hadyn Discuss UAB’s Social Change Leadership Retreat
Sherrod and Hadyn, UAB leadership coordinators, discuss their “social change” retreat and working with students in a university setting.
The 80 students and staff spent three days at ASCCA. Groups often use the facility for retreats and conferences in what we refer to as a “reverse-mainstreaming” environment. These groups help ASCCA continue our mission of providing recreation for people with disabilities.
This video covers the purpose for the retreat, how the students perceive Camp ASCCA and its mission, and the value in leaving your usual confines to enjoy a retreat in our remote environment.
You may also view it at YouTube, Revver, Google Video and at Camp ASCCA’s MySpace page. Also, photos from the retreat are available in the Camp ASCCA Flickr group.
