Winter Board Workshop
There are alot of people who work hard to make Camp ASCCA great. Counselors, volunteers, seasonal staff, and full-time staff do a tremendous amount of work over the course of the year, and Camp ASCCA wouldn’t be the same without their efforts. However, it all starts with the Camp ASCCA Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors is made up of 18 men and women from across the state dedicated to improving Camp ASCCA as we move forward with our mission to serve adults and children with disabilities. The Board is supported and supplemented by the Advisory Board and Ex-Officio Committee, which together totals 73 people. The board members currently serve three year terms and must rotate off, possibly to the Advisory Board, for one year before returning.
One of the board’s responsibilities is fundraising, but that isn’t limited to monetary donations. For example, one of our newest board members, Rob Hunter, has been working to improve the telephone and internet services we receive at camp. Rob and his company, Alliance Communications Management, have been very generous in their efforts to increase the volume of information that can be transmitted, as well as the speed at which that information is transmitted.
Over the weekend of January 26-27, the Board of Directors and several members of the Advisory Board and Ex-Officio Committee met at Camp ASCCA for their Winter Board Workshop. Much of the weekend was dedicated to meetings and preparation for 2007. This weekend also served as an orientation for the newest board members, elected this past fall.
The Board gives invaluable support to the Camp ASCCA staff. It is this support that allows Camp ASCCA to provide the high-quality services that have become synonymous with the ASCCA name. These men and women continue to work “behind-the-scenes” to make Camp ASCCA great and we appreciate them very much.
