Push Camp 2007: Part 3

For the final installation in the Push Camp 2007 series, I will be showing a few “after” pictures and closing out a very productive week. First off, though, I’d like to thank all the members of Pi Kappa Phi that came to work last week. It was a great group of guys and they all worked hard to make Camp ASCCA a better place. Thank You!!

All the projects were successfully completed. The Pool Deck and Arts & Crafts Deck look amazing, both will be popular places for campers and counselors to hang out. The ASCCA Garden is bigger and more accessible to our campers with wheelchairs. The Ziptower is safer and will soon have more hand holds on the inclined wall. The Trash Bins are refurbished, more stable, and newly painted. The Administrator’s House has been gutted and is on its way to being remodeled. The George Proctor Bridge has a new stain and looks brand new, and the Dining Hall Deck has been pressure washed.

The week was finalized with a steak dinner on Wednesday night. After the meal, the Pi Kapps presented Matt Rickman with a $5000 check for the week. That money will go towards the supplies and building materials used during Push Camp 2007. Finally, all the Pi Kapps got down on one knee and serenaded Mrs. Gaye with a love song to show their appreciation. She has always been a favorite of the Push America guys and was visibly emotional during their kind gesture.

All the pictures are on Flickr, check them out. Thanks again to all the Pi Kappa Phi brothers who volunteered their time and energy. Camp ASCCA wouldn’t be the same without you guys.
