Alabama’s Special Camp for Children & Adults

Linden’s Sarah Bradford Participated in RYLA 2007

From Linden, Alabama - way out west near Mississippi - Sarah Bradford made the three hour, 150 mile trip, to Camp ASCCA for the 2007 RYLA conference. We thank Sarah for her dedication. I think she had a good time.

Sarah was chosen for RYLA, Rotary’s Youth Leadership Awards Conference, along with her friend, Andy Flowers (pictured at right).

These two are quite the student leaders. Congratulations were recently issued as the newly elected 2007-2008 Marengo Academy SGA Officers were announced. Andy Flowers was elected President and Sarah Bradford was elected as Treasurer. Congratulations to both of these RYLA leaders.

Marengo Academy was named as one of twenty-one schools selected as an AISA Blue Ribbon school for 2006-2007.

A Blue Ribbon school exemplifies excellence in teaching, student performance, school life, and school and community interaction. A Blue Ribbon award winner is an excellent school involved in an on-going process of school improvement. The Alabama Independent School Association awards a Blue Ribbon to schools that meet certain criteria to distinguish themselves as excellent institutions.

We had a chance to sit down with Sarah on her first full day of RYLA. The video is below. It is a 4.5 MB download and lasts 2:44 minutes. Enjoy.
