Literally, The Two Best Advisors in the World :: Anchor Clubs
Advisors of
high school clubs work long hours. They do all that work on top of their teaching duties, and it is rare that such extra duties are rewarded with pay. But, they are rewarded by the love and admiration of their students.
At the recent Alabama Anchor Club convention held at Camp ASCCA, we witnessed a unique announcement. The two best advisors in the world are both from Alabama this year. The two top advisors coming from the same state has never happened before.
Beth Kennedy, of Jasper’s Walker High School, was selected as International Anchor Advisor of the year. Cathy Ellison, Geneva High School in Geneva, AL, was the 1st runner-up, too. This makes Beth and Cathy the best two advisors in the world, according to Pilot International. Pretty cool, isn’t it.
We were lucky to get the two ladies to sit with us for an interview. Turns out, they have a great deal in common, aside from their Pilot / Anchor Club activities.
Watch the video below. It is a 5.1 MB download and lasts 3:12 minutes.
