Camp ASCCA Welcomes Geni Payne

Camp ASSCA is happy to announce a new addition to our staff, Geni Payne from Rainbow City, Alabama. Geni is currently wrapping up her first month at camp and has exciting plans for this summer’s nature programs.

…Working at Camp ASCCA is “like having all the good aspects of my other jobs rolled up in one”…

Geni has spent her entire life around animals, growing up with horses on her parents’ farm. She has also worked with the Park Service in Wyoming and with 4-H. She says that working at Camp ASCCA is “like all the good aspects of my other jobs rolled up in one.” She has been doing a great job with the demo farm and recently found out that Wilbur the pig’s favorite treat is marshmallows!

She has been getting the garden ready for the summer campers and hopes she can enlist their help in making scarecrows to guard the corn. There is also a possibility of starting a butterfly garden.

Aside from the demo farm, Geni will be leading fishing activities, working in the environmental center, and has one week left in her lifeguarding course in Alexander City. Camp ASCCA is thrilled to have such an experienced and dedicated new staff member! She is anxious for the summer camp sessions to begin, and we know our campers will love having her here!
