For quality entertainment last night, Dadeville campers had to look no farther than their own amphitheater. The after-dinner talent show showcased a wide variety of acts, with the most popular being Michael Jackson renditions.
…the whole audience joined the stage with Elijah Dunn for “Beat It”…
Andy Price moonwalked, Mattie Wingard danced and sang to “Billy Jean,” and the whole audience joined the stage with Elija Dunn for “Beat It.” Other performances included Kyle Davis singing Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” and Jackie McQuiston and Jerry Weaver’s duet of Elvis Presley’s “Hound Dog.” Michael Keith, with his break dancing, proved to everyone that he is, in fact, too sexy for his shirt. Hootie and the Blowfish, “God Bless America,” and some R. Kelly were also performed.
The three cabins each showed off their collective talents in group acts. The boys’ cabin flexed their muscles to an 80’s track, the girls’ cabin danced to the Temptations’ “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” and the co-ed cabin, plus me, the PR intern, proved that we could keep up with every hop and stomp of the “Cha-Cha Slide.” The audience enjoyed the show so much that they couldn’t keep their seats. With so many popular songs being played for the performers, the audience had to dance along in the aisles.
The talent show will definitely be a favorite memory from everyone’s week at Camp ASCCA! Check out the Flickr folder for photos of what a Camp ASCCA talent show is all about.
