Pool Parties May Be the Daily Highlight This Week

It might only be May, but summer temperatures are already taking their toll here at camp. For that reason, everyone seems to enjoy a good splash in the pool in the late afternoon before dinner.

…An afternoon swim may be the most simple of all activities offered, but it is certainly not the most boring…

Though 3:45 to5:00 is scheduled for free choice with a variety of activities this week, almost every camper from Ashford and Rehobeth Schools can be found swimming. With fun music like New Kids On the Block, Bon Jovi, and even some boy bands–all thanks to Barclay’s iPod–the pool parties are a tough option to ignore. The teachers and volunteers, although they may not be swimming, can often be caught dancing and singing along as much as, if not more than, the campers!

Of all therapeutic recreation, the swimming pool may be so popular because there is no waiting in line and no complicated safety gear required. An afternoon swim may be the most simple of all activities offered at Camp ASCCA, but for this group, it is certainly not the most boring! Go to Flickr to see photos.
