A Reflection On Dadeville Campus’s First Session

T

…I could see that the counselors really
“got it”

he Dadeville Campus just wrapped up their first session of the summer. I was fortunate enough to be a ble to spend some time there throughout the week with the campers and staff members.

I would have to say the talent show was the best part of it all; nearly every camper participated, with performances of singing and dancing! One of our campers even performed “God Bless America” in sign language. None of the campers showed signs of nervousness as they proudly took the stage to show us their talents. I can speak for everyone in saying that we were truly in awe by each of the acts!

One other highlight of the first session at the Dadeville Campus, for me, was being present at the staff meeting on Thursday night. It was amazing to see how all of the counselors had really come together throughout the course of their first week. They all sat at a table, each discussing their most unforgettable moments of the week. I could see that they really “got it.” They understood exactly what Camp ASCCA is about–providing endless, quality care and programming for children and adults with disabilities.

We are so proud of all the counselors working at the Dadeville Campus; welcome to the Camp ASCCA staff!

Did you know that Camp ASCCA is in Facebook? If you are too, please go on over and “Friend” Camp ASCCA. This way you may keep up with what we’re doing all the time. Join the Camp ASCCA Facebook group, too.
