This summer’s Program Staff began arriving yesterday. Program Staff refers to the group of staff members responsible for leading camp activities–lifeguards, rope course leaders, demo farm workers, and more. One of our new members, Lacey Andrews, has come to Jackson’s Gap all the way from South Dakota.
…the Program Staff’s need for demo farm and nature leaders was a perfect opportunity for her…
Lacey just earned her degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of South Dakota and found out about Camp ASCCA in her search for an internship. She and her family live on a farm, so the Program Staff’s need for demo farm and nature leaders was a perfect opportunity for her to combine her education and personal experience into a career-oriented position.
The demo farm group are some of the most early-rising staff members at Camp ASCCA; they had to be at the farm to bathe and feed the animals at 6:30 on their first morning on the job! Still, Lacey is enthusiastic about the summer and is ready for the campers to arrive. When we caught up with her after breakfast this morning, she showed no signs of exhaustion. Watch her on the video below!
