Georgia Buettner, from Tuscaloosa, is a member of the Camp ASCCA Board of Directors. Last September, she had the good fortune to meet Justin Strickland, our 2006-2007 Camper of the Year. Since that time, she has worked hard to arrange for Justin to be the speaker at one of her Rotary meetings.
…He encouraged the Rotarians to stay involved with camp, emphasizing how special this is for him and his peers…
I had the opportunity to introduce Justin Strickland to the Tuscaloosa Morning Rotary Club yesterday.  I spoke very quickly about the mission of Easter Seals Camp ASCCA. Then, I “handed over” the program to Justin.
Representing Camp very well as the 2006 “Prom King” and “Camper of the Year,” Justin shared his life, experiences at camp, and his future plans. Of course, Justin credits all of his abilities and accomplishments to his parents and family, but he told his story of how important camp has been for his confidence, happiness, and life-long friendships. He encouraged the Rotarians to stay involved with camp, emphasizing how special this is for him and his peers.
