A Summer Job Proves to be an Incredibly Rewarding Experience

Jared Lee takes advantage of his break away from taking classes at Auburn University to act as a counselor and mentor to the campers at both Camp ASCCA and Camp Seale Harris.

…Camp ASCCA, to me, is where my heart is…

Lee has long fulfilled his summers by attending camp. He went to Camp Seale Harris for ten years, before being a counselor there for six years. Lee has also worked with Camp ASCCA for three years.

With his many years of camp experience under his belt, Lee has a profound respect for what the two camps have to offer, especially Camp ASCCA.

Lee admits that the transition from Seale Harris to ASCCA is definitely an enlightening one. He has noticed that ASCCA campers show an amazing understanding and appreciation for the opportunity they have been given to come to camp and therefore, take full advantage of it. “The campers can sit, doing something for three hours without getting bored,”said Lee. “If it weren’t for places like ASCCA, they would never have the chance to do any of the things we do here.”

“ASCCA, to me, is where my heart is. The campers here truly appreciate what we do for them. It is a hard job, but extremely rewarding.”

In the video below, Lee reveals more his experiences at Camp ASCCA.
