Camp ASCCA welcomed the rest of its 2007 summer staff to camp yesterday and they are already off to a busy start. Many of the staff are returning
counselors but a lot of them are new to Camp ASCCA.
As part of their orientation the counselors spent time today on the wonderful group elements course here at camp. The staff members learned how to work with each other and communicate as a team. These are skills that are necessary to making their time here at camp a success.
After only knowing each other for one day they trusted each other enough to complete many tasks the course has to offer. One of the events they completed was The Log. Staff members lined up on a log and without talking had to arrange themselves in order by their birthday, without falling off. It took a lot of innovation and teamwork but they figured it out!
They also had success with The Magic Trolley, The Spider web, Nitro’s Crossing, and The wall.
Above is a picture of the staff completing The Log, and on the left is a picture of the team working as one on The Magic Trolley!
