Everyone Can Climb a Tree at Camp ASCCA

Camp ASCCA is known for allowing its campers to experience fun things that they might not have the opportunity to enjoy elsewhere. One of these activities is tree climbing, Camp ASCCA has an adapted tree house where all kids can experience the joy and fun of climbing a tree!

…He said he  could see the other side of Lake Martin, the chapel and the rest of the trees…

When campers first arrive at the treehouse their counselors put a harness on them, then they are connected to a rope. After that the campers are pulled, or help the trained staff pull them up to the platform at the top of the tree. Another staff member is waiting on the platform to help pull them up and sit with them while they enjoy a birds eye view of Lake Martin and Camp ASCCA.

I went a visited the treehouse yesterday and got to watch Josh Cusick climb for the first time in the seven years that he has been at Camp ASCCA. He was so excited to be up at the very top of camp.

When I saw how much fun Josh was having it made me want to get a harness on and go climb myself. Josh was so excited about climbing the tree and when he got down he told me that he loved the view. He said he could see the other side of Lake Martin, the chapel and the rest of the trees.

Josh had plenty of encouragement the whole way up the tree, his whole group was down at the bottom cheering him on! Josh said if he had the opportunity next year to participate in the treehouse he was for sure going to take it!

You can watch Josh climb the treehouse by clicking on the video below!
