Chelsie Orndoff Reflects on Summer 2007

As much fun as working at Camp ASCCA can be, nobody said it was easy! Chelsie Orndoff, a counselor for the first time this summer, doesn’t hesitate to admit that her first two weeks were more than a little rough. However, Chelsie was determined not to be a quitter, and she stuck out the rest of the summer!

Chelsie says that Session Three “Teen Week” is what pushed her to stay, and it’s also what keeps her motivated when her job gets hard. Our teenage campers’ great spirit and appreciation reminded Chelsie that she had a purpose for being here, and she couldn’t let the campers, or herself, down. This amazing counselor hasn’t let anyone down in the least, and she even spent one week as a boys’ counselor!

Chelsie is a Special Education major at Harding University. She says the most important thing Camp ASCCA has taught her that she can apply to her career is not to limit anyone. Instead, encourage them to do as much as possible!

To all of the counselors and staff, THANKS! My son Zach has been coming to Camp ASCCA for I think about 11 years! it is the highlight of his summer, and year for that matter! They way everyone goes out of their way to make sure they all have a great time is amazing! He has made lifetime friends with both campers and counselors. Chelsie, Zach would agree, Teen Week is awesome!

    thanks for all you do!
