Molly Trausch :: A Future Teacher Learns, Teaches at ASCCA

Molly Trausch from Homewood, Ala. has just finished up her first summer as a counselor at Camp ASCCA! She’s getting ready to start school at the University of Alabama, where she’ll study Special Education, very soon. A friend of hers who also studies Special Education at Alabama told her about Camp ASCCA and encouraged her to apply, knowing that she would fit right in and do a great job!

Molly Trausch is learning and teaching during her summer at Camp ASCCA, and we’re glad about that

While at camp, Molly says she loved persuading campers to try something for the first time. Perhaps this is why her favorite activity is the zipline! She also loved the accepting, fun atmosphere that Camp ASCCA provides. She saw how important it is for the campers to be a part of everything and not be excluded, and therefore she made sure they didn’t miss an activity due to fear or lack of confidence!

Molly reveals that Camp ASCCA taught her patience and made her “want to help everybody.” It looks like she’ll be a great teacher someday, and hopefully the lessons she has learned at Camp ASCCA will stay with her during her classes and career.

Meet “Molly T,” as she’s known at Camp ASCCA, in the video below!
