AU Singers Retreat and Rehearse at Camp ASCCA

This weekend, four groups are holding retreats or camps at ASCCA. The Auburn University Singers are rehearsing for their Fall season. Flint Hill Church and the Visionary Guild (for people with disabilities) are holding retreats. Joining all of them is a group of mentally disabled adults from Partlow. Here is an interview with the Chris Cravey, President of AU Singers.

…retreat groups actually help us serve campers by lowering overall camp costs and thereby enabling ASCCA to serve more people…

I was lucky to be able to pull Chris Cravey, President of AU Singers, away from their rehearsal for just a few minutes. Please watch the video interview below. Use the pop-up link to play it in a new window.

I’ll try and get another interview with their director and another student tomorrow. Also, I’ll try to get a bit of video from their performance, too. They scheduled a performance for the end of their rehearsal retreat to entertain visitors and ASCCA staff. That’s pretty nice of them. Thanks.

The AU Singers have used Camp ASCCA for their retreats many times. In fact, their director (when in school at AU and a member of the AU Singers) actually came to a retreat just about the time ASCCA opened - in the late 1970’s.

Is your group planning a retreat or leadership conference? Camp ASCCA would like to host you and your friends. Please contact us for more information.

Camp ASCCA is in Facebook? If you are too, please go on over and “Friend” Camp ASCCA and join the Camp ASCCA Facebook group, too.
