Dana’s End of Week Update

As springtime camps are “closing in” fast for everyone here at Camp ASCCA, we all have different types of responsibilities during this time of year. For me, this involves preparing certain reports, special event fundraisers, grant writing, speaking to groups, etc.

Although I did manage to go to the Nonprofit Resource Center of Alabama’s 2008 Pre-Summit on Wednesday, I was mostly at my desk writing a variety of documents. I’ve been working on United Way applications, preparing a grant to receive (hopefully) funding for a few shade structures for our new accessible water playground, preparing a grant to (hopefully) receive funds for children with epilepsy to attend the summer Epilepsy Camp, and a variety of thank you notes and Valentine’s Dance thank you notes and correspondence.

I know my week’s activities might not be so exciting for most, but it’s my little part in helping to make the camp experience a memorable one for the many people with disabilities we serve each year.

Watch out! Next week John, Allison and I get go to Easter Seals Alabama’s “Day on the Hill” at the capitol in Montgomery! This will be our time to share Easter Seals’ services throughout the legislature, and hopefully, run into the Governor!

Have a great weekend!
