Easter Seals Alabama’s “Day on the Hill”

Easter Seals Alabama, Inc. visited Alabama legislators at the Montgomery Capitol on Thursday, February 28th in an effort to educate them about services provided by the organization and its programs for people with
disabilities. Presentations of artwork completed by children with Autism Spectrum Disorder were made to Governor Bob Riley, Lt. Governor Folsom, Jr. and Representative Cam Ward.
Administrators and staffers went door-to-door dropping off literature and speaking with senators, representatives and staffers. Representing Camp ASCCA were Administrator John Stephenson, Allison Wetherbee, Dana Rickman, and board members Richard Bollinger, Tom Mann and Paul Vercher.
Easter Seals Alabama is comprised of 9 community rehabilitation programs throughout the state and the well-known Camp ASCCA in Jackson’s Gap. Easter Seals Alabama served over 21,000 children, adults and families, and employed 1,350 persons with disabilities during fiscal year 2007. This resulted in $19,000,000.00 in new wages and purchasing power in the State of Alabama. “We are proud to be a service provider of rehabilitation programs for children and adults with disabilities, and lend support to their families as wellâ€, stated Lynne Stokley, CEO, Easter Seals Alabama.
