Ryan’s Gospel Jubilee

For those who didn’t take the chance to go, boy did you miss a good time at theRyan singing 12th Annual Ryan’s Gospel Jubilee, held on May 16, 2008. One of our favorite campers, Ryan Mercer, annual holds a gospel singing in Atlanta to benefit his favorite charities. This year, he chose Camp ASCCA. Ryan said that camp is so important in his life and he is definitely very important in ours.

The night kicked off with Ryan’s grandfather, Mr. Willis Bennett, welcoming in attendees. He told a little about Ryan, his mission to The Lambdinshelp others, and his love of the gospel music. First up was the group, The Lambdins. This group is made up of 5 sisters, one’s daughter, a husband a son, and one devoted friend/bass player who “travel as they encourage those present to worship with them as they share a message of hope and salvation through their anointed music”.

Next us was the famous quartet of men, the Down East Boys from North Carolina. TheDown East Boys group travels year-round throughout the country and “numerous popular radio releases and awards and award nominations are tangible accolades they have enjoyed”.

At the close of the performances Ryan asked both gospel groups and the audience to join with him in singing a few songs, including Amazing Grace. Ryan then shared with the crowd his message of hope and his testimony of how great God’s love truly is, for him and all of us.

Ryan and FriendsAnd no, it wasn’t just me who visited Ryan’s fundraiser…. Campers Kyle Pease and Laura Lee Hughes attended, as well as counselors Traci Finch and Lisa Meeder. I know this “meant the world” to Ryan and his family.

Side note, Ryan’s grandfather, Mr. Willis Bennett, helps Ryan organize this event each year. His dedication and love for his grandson is so clearly evident in his actions. You can see the love in his face. Thank you, as well, Mr. Bennett, for you caring and support of Camp ASCCA!

Thank you for the nice article on Ryan’s Gospel Singing Jubilee. We have been privileged to be guest singers on Ryan’s program three times and each time it was such a blessing to us. He speaks very highly of your camp and how he loves it. Ryan is doing a great work and he is such a blessing to all who know and love him.
May God richly bless you for all you do.
    In His love.
