Seale Harris Family Camp :: Banana Olympics

This past Tuesday night Camp ASCCA went bananas! Camp ASCCA is hosting Seale Harris for the next three weeks. Seale Harris is a camp for people with diabetes.

A favorite activity of Seale Harris is Banana Olympics. The campers are split into four teams and create a Banana Olympian using pipe cleaners, googley eyes, stickers, markers and cloth.

The bananas participated in different Olympic games including zipline, discus, basketball, long jump and sling shot. Bananas were flying all over camp, but when the bananas were down the nurses could be seen rushing to their side.

Teams received points for each event on how well they completed the activity and the appearance of the banana after their falls. The sling shot carried the most weight and as the last event it was still anyone’s game.

Banana Olympics is popular among the campers and we hope to see it return to Camp ASCCA.
