Ready…aim…fire!
Riflery is a favorite activity for many boy campers at Camp ASCCA. This week Seale Harris junior campers all had the chance to fire at a target. Seale Harris Junior Camp is a camp for children with diabetes ages 6 to 12.
With the help of Nathan McNair, an ASCCA program staff member, many of the campers were successful.
He taught each camper how to load and fire the guns. Most importantly, Nathan taught the campers gun safety and how to protect their eyes and ears.
I had a chance to interview a young camper while visiting riflery today. He actually got two bullsyes! He has been attending Seale Harris for the past five summers, and he said he will return for many years to come.
His favorite activity is fishing, but he really enjoys the dance. Each year, he looks forward to asking a new girl to be his date.
In his interview, he explains his great riflery score, his favorite activities and offers advice to other kids who may be nervous to come to camp.
