Meet the counselors from Camp America

This year’s staff comes from all over the world. Not only do we have counselors from the North, South, East, West, and Midwest, but we have some from Europe as well!

Tom Sutton and Matthew “Matty G” Greetham are two of four counselors who came to Camp ASCCA through Camp America, a program that sends European students to the U.S. to live and work at a summer camp. Tom is from Liverpool and Matty G is from Leeds in the United Kingdom.

Matty G graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in Animation. Camp ASCCA helped him to decide that he would like to go into children’s education animation.

Tom plans on pursuing travel and tourism management because one of his hobbies is traveling. Camp ASCCA was the first time that he had working with children with disabilities, and he hopes to continue for years to come.

The two are both returning staff; this is Matty’s third summer and Tom’s second. Both began in the summer of 2005. One reason both counselors enjoy returning for the experience is because there are not many summer camps like Camp ASCCA in the U.K.

Tom and Matty G can likely be found throwing a rugby ball around during their offtime. In fact, Tom is actually on a rugby team.
