This week, our first session of ASCCA camp, our returning staff has seen many familiar faces
returning to Camp ASCCA, but there are quite a few new campers experiencing camp for the first time. One of those campers is a girl named Jayla.
Everywhere I go everyone is talking about how excited, happy and full of energy Jayla is during each activity. Her group leaders and counselor say she is excited to throughout the entire day. Even at meal time! Tom, one of our counselors, sits next to Jayla and meals and is her feeder. Each bite is a joyful burst of happiness from Jayla.
At the Demo Farm today she was able to pet a turkin, a rabbit and see many other animals. She also went down the zip line. She had me convinced she wasn’t scared at all! While she waited for her turn she would watch the others going before her. Then when it was her turn she was so excited and was smiling from ear to ear the whole ride down the zip line.
Jayla’s first experience at Camp ASCCA is definitely an enjoyable one! We can only hope Jayla will join us next year too! She can brighten anyone’s day with just one smile!
