Alabama’s Special Camp for Children & Adults

A Little About TJ and Chelsie Battle

For the first time TJ and Chelsie Battle attended Camp ASCCA during session one. TJ came to camp as a first time camper, and his sister Chelsie was here as a voluntary CIT (counselor in training).

On check-in day TJ was pretty excited and ready to have a blast. Chelsie, on the other hand, was a little nervous about a week with people she did not know. It did not take long for either one of them to fall in love with Camp ASCCA, as so many of us do each year.

TJ was one of our most excited campers. He made friends everywhere he went at camp. To TJ everything was an adventure. He said he had a blast at camp and cannot wait until next year when he can come back. Some of TJ’s favorite activities were the new splash pad, demo farm and of course the dance.

Chelsie had a somewhat different experience with camp. Since she was a CIT, her job was to help the counselors in any way possible. Chelsie was a natural. By Tuesday morning, her nervousness about camp was gone and she was having a great time with the campers. She wants to come back another week this summer to volunteer. We hope to see her again soon!

Here is an interview with the whole family!
