Chelsea Truman is a returning staff member, but we haven’t seen her in quite a while.
Chelsea is one of this years unit leaders. She worked here a few years ago, and then she took a seven year hiatus. She is back this summer because she couldn’t think of anything else she wanted to do with her summer.
Chelsea worked at Camp ASCCA for two or three summers, she could not remember exactly, and then she stopped to finish her degree, begin her career and settle into her life! Her life as a teacher gives Chelsea the prime opportunity to be very versatile during the summer months. She tossed around a
few different options of a second job for the summer, but nothing sparked her interest as much as coming back to work for Camp ASCCA. Her main reasoning was that she wanted to be outside and experience the same happiness and compassion felt at camp everyday.
Chelsea told me the biggest change or difference in camp since her last summer here was mainly the change in the campers. She said she noticed it more last week during teen week. Chelsea said she remembers when the campers were 7-9 years old and this was their first time at camp. Now, here they are teenagers and some of them at teen week for the last time. She said it was pretty interesting to see the change in most of the campers.
