Camp ASCCA Journal - Therapeutic Recreation

This summer I had the opportunity to write an article for the Lake Martin Living Magazine. The magazine is seen throughout the Lake Martin Community through its subscribers. I was excited to be given the opportunity to write a piece for this magazine.

Each intern at Camp ASCCA was given the opportunity to write for the magazine. I chose to write my article on Camp ASCCA’s Prom, held during Teen Week. I had been so moved by that week of camp and the culminating event of Prom, that the only thing I could think about writing about was Prom!

I connected with many of the campers during teen week and established, what I believe will be life long friendships. Their lives and attitudes about life gave me inspiration for my own life. I learned life lessons and new ways to accomplish my goals and fears!

When I saw my article in the Lake Martin Living about the people who have helped me so much, I was ecstatic. I want to tell everyone I can about the experiences that I have seen and felt while at Camp ASCCA. My article is helping me to do that. The magazine also has an easy to read online version, just like its print version.
