Camp ASCCA Summer 2008 :: Thank You
Before I begin, I would like to tell you all this is my final blog for the summer. I have
throughly enjoyed my summer and time spent with this magical place. I decided for this blog to reflect on the things I’ve learned this summer about myself, others and my career.
The things I learned about myself were things that at the beginning of the summer I didn’t think I would have trouble comprehending, but then ASCCA sessions started. I have never seen so much love and compassion shown in one place. Everyday has been a new magical experience for me and I hope for others as well. I learned how to be me here. At Camp ASCCA we are given no limitations, and every situation is a good one if you make it that way. I’ve learned not to take the small things for granted.
I’ve seen people push themselves to new heights, I’ve pushed myself as well. The staff as a whole came together, we are a family. We have helped each other in times of need. We may let each other down at times, but in the end we are still family and we’ll always be there for each other.
When people ask me about camp and my internship here, I tell them I could not have picked a better internship. I not only learned about myself, but I learned exceptional experience for my career. I learned things that will affect my relationships with co-workers and things that will hopefully advance me in my career.
I want to say to you this has been the summer of a lifetime. I will never forget the memories I’ve shared here. To the people who gave me a chance and hired me, THANK YOU! I feel like my life is so much better because Camp ASCCA has become a part of me. Just like our theme this summer:”This is Home.”
Camp ASCCA has a new site! ASCCA Friends. It is our own personal social media network.
