CFC United Way Volunteers Visit!

Last Thursday, August 21, 2008, Camp ASCCA had some United Way visitors! A group of federal employees from Lee and Macon counties who are participating in the Heart of Alabama Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) visited and toured our campus.

The Heart of Alabama Combined Federal Campaign covers the Montgomery area and federal employees are urged to give to member agencies. The fine folks who came to visit will report back to their departments and kick-off the campaign in their offices!

Many thanks goes out to the CFC Executive Director, Xavier “Lew” Lewis who annually brings interested donors to visit. We had a fantastic time touring our facilities and stopping to talk briefly with members of the group who were attending a camp for injured U.S. soldiers. I believe the highlight was watching the campers water ski using adaptive skiing equipment, thanks to the people at Adaptive Aquatics, Inc.!

We look forward to next years visit and in the meantime, wish the CFC campaign much success!
