Joni & Friends visits Camp ASCCA

ver this past Labor Day Weekend, a group from Joni & Friends out of Knoxville, TN visited us for a Family Retreat. They were a large group filled with families that have one or more members with a disability. This was the first time that this group has visited us here at Camp ASCCA.

Taken from the Joni & Friends website their objective is, “For nearly a quarter of a century, Joni and Friends has been dedicated to extending the love and message of Christ to people who are affected by disability, whether it is the disabled person, a family member, or friend. Our objective is to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of this group of people in practical ways.” For more information on them, check out their website at www.joniandfriends.org.

While at camp the families enjoyed the zip-line, horseback riding, riflery, fishing, demo farm, splash pad, pool, tubing, and boat rides. They were able to rest and relax as well as get in some Bible study and devotional time. They all seemed to have a great time and we are looking forward to hosting their camp again next year!
