Former Miss Prom Queen just can’t stay away!

For Shanae Heard, Camp ASCCA is her life. She comes wishing time would stand still and leaves trying to make it fly by till the next camp session.

Shanae has been attending camp for several years now. She has  represented camp very well as she has assisted writing for several of our newsletters that go out monthly. She believes that this is what heaven is like for people with disabilities. She says that she loves how when she comes here she feels as if she belongs and is not just a girl in a wheelchair but a person who just happens to be in a wheelchair.

Shanae said her favorite activity at Camp ASCCA is tubing. However she is not too upset about not being able to do that this weekend as it is quite chilly and windy! Shanae is also looking forward to the new Golf and Yacht Club coming to Camp ASCCA, Summer 2009. She says she hopes to be able to sponsor a hole. Shanae is always a camper we look forward to and we were very glad she was able to come this weekend! You can watch her interview below:
