Summer Employment 2013

Camp ASCCA offers a summer camp program for children and adults with mental and/or physical disabilities. We will be looking for staff that have high moral character, love for the outdoors, an enthusiasm for life and an interest in working with special populations. Minimum age of staff is 18.

Nurse Recruitment 2013

The Summer Nurse is part of a team of four nurses. Our nursing culture here is proactive.  You will work out of a spacious and modern four bed Health Center. Camp ASCCA has a staff to camper ratio of 2-3 to 1, and they take care of the majority of ADLs.  We have short, five day sessions, and scheduled time off during the sessions.  Housing is provided at the Health Center; each apartment has a private bath.  Wi-Fi access is provided at no charge.   All meals are provided, and nurses have their own kitchenette, if they prefer.

If you are passionate about nursing, and what it means, if you think making evening rounds with a flashlight is cool, and if you think that a scrub top and shorts sounds like good work clothes, then you are the kind of nurse Camp ASCCA is looking for.  RNs and LPNs are encouraged to apply, and you must possess, or be able to get, an unrestricted Alabama Nurses License.  While a shorter commitment is possible, we would prefer a full time commitment from June 24 – August 16, 2013.  Please mail or email the Camp ASCCA Nurse Application along with your resume to Joe Spavone, RN, Director of Health Services, Camp ASCCA, PO Box 21, Jackson's Gap, AL 36861.

The Director of Marketing Communications, Dana Rickman, keeps information on file for anyone interested in Summer PR staff positions/internships. When openings become available, you will be notified. PR Staff/Interns will gain valuable experience in multimedia - producing videos, blogging, photography, soliciting media exposure, etc. The PR Staff Position/Internship is a paid position that requires living on campus. Camp ASCCA accepts volunteers for an array of projects and camper groups throughout the year. If you would like to become a volunteer, contact Matt Rickman, Camp Director at matt@campascca.org. If you would like to help with one of our special events, contact Dana Rickman, Director of Marketing Communications at dana@campascca.org.

*Please note that there are a limited amount of volunteer opportunities during our summer program due to liability reasons.

**Due to financial constraints, we ask that any groups wanting to provide volunteer services that would require the purchase of supplies (lumber, paint, etc.) please be able to provide the materials or donations for purchasing the materials.
