A Look Back at Session 2: A Special Goodnight Song

Thursday was the last full day of camp, and as usual, we went out with a bang. Our original plans for the day got rained out, but that’s never stopped us from having a good time here at Camp! We spent our morning watching movies at the Dunn Center, winning yet more beanie babies at bingo, hanging out in the game room, or painting with Alden, Kris, and Michael at Arts and Crafts. Our friends at Arts and Crafts used their time very wisely — they made posters for the Red Clay Strays!

The Red Clay Strays have been performing at ASCCA for a few years now, and our campers have come to be their biggest fans. Swimmer and longtime camper Jurdy Warnock considers them her favorite band. This love seems to be mutual, too, judging by how wonderfully The Strays treat our campers. Fini got to perform yet another cover of “Purple Rain,” this time with the whole band backing her up! The artists also showed their Camp spirit by ending the show with a special rendition of the ASCCA “Goodnight Song.” This anthem has a special place in all of our hearts, and it was amazing to hear it sang so beautifully. Thank you, Red Clay Strays!
