A Talented Taco Tuesday

This week, Camp ASCCA is going around the world with our dress up days. This means an age old Camp tradition, taco Tuesday, got a fun new addition — nachos! After taking a culinary journey south of the border at lunch, everyone traveled out to the Outpost for another cheesy treat at snack time. Afterwards, campers had the opportunity to choose what adventures their afternoon would hold during free choice. Our more outdoorsy friends headed to the boat rides or splash pad, but at the Outpost, ASCCA’s more musically inclined were preparing for the talent show.

The talent show is one of everyone’s absolute favorite activities. It gives campers a chance to show off their incredible abilities and unique style, and this group shined like stars. One minute a pop song would have us up and dancing, next a country ballad would bring us close to tears. It was amazing to see campers and staff alike bonding over the music — and the shaved ice. Many who performed were so moved that they invited other friends up on stage to dance with them; Fini, Toni, and Latressa’s “Purple Rain” brought at least fifteen people into the spotlight. There are so many campers here this week, but not a single one failed to bring a smile to the faces of their friends. Now that is talent!
