Hope Heals Camp 2018

At the start of the summer, we are joined by groups who use our facilities for week-long sessions of fun and adventure. This week, we were joined by the Hope Heals Camp. This particular week of camp was known for several years as Rooftop Friends Alabama Family Retreat, but this will be the second year of Hope Heals Camp. According tohopehealscamp.org, the mission of the camp is to create “a week-long experience in Alabama for individuals and families with disabilities that marks the beginning of a lasting community grown from the disabilities in us all.”
Meet the newest addition to the adventure staff, Casey Little!

Let’s give a warm welcome back to Casey! Casey Little is 21 years old and this is her third summer at Camp ASCCA.This is also her first time on program staff, her first two summers she was a counselor. Casey is also a part of our Adventure Staff so I asked Casey why she made the big change and she said, “I wanted the opportunity to create relationships with more of the campers because as a counselor you could really only get close to one camper each week. Also, at camp we give campers the opportunity to face their fears and my past campers fears were always zipline so I chose adventure staff.”
