How Adventure Program Specialist, Boyer Dealt with Quarantine

During the Stay at Home order, I kept working at camp making sure our facilities were kept up and looking as good as possible!

After that, I spent a month helping my parents move to Virginia. I took several loads of furniture, got them settled in the new house, and helped prepare their old house to be sold. I also spent time with my two brothers in Mississippi just visiting and catching up with them. Since graduating from college, I normally only saw them a couple of times a year.

Lastly, I was able to safely travel to Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and do some camping, mountain biking, fishing, and hiking in Colorado! (I tested negative for COVID-19 when I returned and was able to do all of those things safely with masks, socially distanced, etc.!)

When staying at home, I kept busy by reading, doing woodburning projects, biking, and binging shows on Netflix.

As far as being affected by COVID-19, of course, I was just missing campers being around camp and getting to hang out with them! I also had to adjust to doing more things by myself (hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, etc.) and cooking almost every meal. I remained social by having zoom meetings, Facetiming, or calling my friends and family to hang out virtually.
