Mark Heine’s 40th Year at Camp ASCCA

Session 2 is off to a great start, and that is largely due to all of our fantastic campers. This week is what staff members call “adult week,” they have been coming to camp for a very long
time, some even longer than Matt Rickman! Our returning campers are very special as they’ve
chosen to come see us and help us grow each and every year.

Plenty of campers have been with ASCCA for a majority of their lives, but one camper has truly
been on this journey from the beginning. This camper is Mr. Mark Heine. Mark was kind enough
to take time to speak to us this evening and here’s what he had to say about Camp.
We know Camp adds new attractions and builds their facilities to be even more accessible every year. Mr. Heine says, “Camp improves every year.” He also believes Camp will continue to do so well into the future, hopefully forever! When asked how he felt about seeing so many new campers and staff, Mr. Mark said he was overjoyed that so many new people have had the opportunity to come to camp and have such a great experience. He also praised Matt and Cotney for their willingness to learn from campers and make changes if something isn’t working, saying it shows how much they truly care about the happiness of everyone they meet. At Camp ASCCA we are honored to provide an
experience that is so precious, and we thank all of our returning campers for
being a part of this journey with us.
