Session 4: Terry Time

Keep up with Terry and follow us on social media!

Camp ASCCA’s beloved bearded dragon Terry made an appearance Monday during evening rotations. Led by program staff member Kris, campers learned many different fun facts about bearded dragons and their way of living. Campers were excited to see Terry dressed in her best costume which includes a pink hat and tutu. As Terry walked along the table campers sat around, Kris began to feed her worms as he began his lesson.

Kris shared fun facts about bearded dragons for the campers. For example, bearded dragons can climb trees, change colors, and sleep standing up. Kris also described the different types of food Terry eats. From worms to plants, campers learned that bearded dragons are omnivores. Kris also explained the temperature the eggs are when the bearded dragon hatches determine its gender. Campers had loads of fun learning about Terry and what makes her special.

After Kris finished his lesson, he let campers hold Terry. Campers described Terry to have rough skin and to be slimy. Terry had a blast sitting on camper’s shoulders for a photoshoot before it was time for her nap. Camp ASCCA loves all sorts of animals and Terry is a fan favorite!
