Camp ASCCA Blog

Since the beginning of the summer, Camp ASCCA has hosted several musical events for our campers and our staff. This fall, there will be a private concert on the Big Stage @ ASCCA on Saturday, September 8, 2018, and it is expected to begin at approximately 7 p.m. The Band of Heathens will be performing, and we expect to have limited space available for additional guests to attend. Keep in mind, the concert is still a private event, so you must have a ticket in order to get in.

As the first full day of session seven has ended and we start our second full day, I would like to take a look back on last night’s activities. We had a very busy day here at Camp yesterday because we had a four program rotations day…

Last week was a bittersweet week here at Camp ASCCA, as a lot of our summer staff enjoyed their last week of Camp. For those of us who get to work this week, we are fortunate to spend another week at the best place on Earth…

The Judy Williams Scholarship is given every year to a summer staff member chosen based on his or her energy and enthusiasm during work, attentiveness towards campers, and resiliency through a hot Alabama summer.

Wow, what a week it has been here at Camp ASCCA. Session six was nothing but amazing and it was a special week for a lot of our staff. As school begins to start a lot of our staff members had to say their goodbyes last night as their fun filled summer here at Camp has to come to an end…

Dances are often the highlight of a week at Camp, and this week’s formal was a definite hit! Almost every week, Dj Codiak (Outdoor Education Director Cody) plays popular hits for about an hour and a half while everyone dances with their best friends and sings at the top of their lungs. During this year’s Session 6, we set a special night aside for a formal dance similar to a formal many young adults attend in college. Many of our campers this week are between the ages of 19 and 35, so it was a perfect crowd for a night like this.

On Monday night our Camp split into two different groups and half of them went to the pool party while the other half went to the Camp ASCCA casino. Last night for evening program, the groups visited whatever they did not go to on Monday night…
